Sefton’s food and health workers offer a range of courses to help people of all ages to make the right lifestyle choices and to cook simple healthy meals

4 week Healthy Habits

This course includes fun ways to help young children 4-7yrs and their families understand the importance of healthy eating and cooking. This can help to protect children from being overweight throughout their lives and can be run in schools or community venues

4 week Parent and Tot Cookery Sessions

A fun and practical way to introduce the under 5’s to simple cookery with their parent or guardian

This course can be run in schools, nurseries and community venues.

Make as much mess as you like and take the end product home!

This course covers:

  • Introduction to cooking skills
  • Learn about fruit and vegetables

And also, lots of useful information for the grown ups.

4 week Dump the Junk

This course is run in schools for children over 7yrs and encourages them to develop healthy lifestyle habits and includes fun ways to:

  • Cooking healthier versions of fast food
  • Understand labelling and spot hidden fats and sugar in food

Choose to lose

This course for over 16s can be held at a variety of settings including: workplaces, children’s centres, colleges, community centres and health centres

  • Physical activity

  • Dealing with temptation

4 week Cook and Eat

For adults who want information and guidance on cooking healthier meals, either for themselves, or the rest of the family.

The 4 week course will cover basic cooking skills to help give people the confidence to cook economical tasty meals.

This course can be delivered for up to eight people at a time.

4 week Healthy Eating

These informative sessions aim to improve basic knowledge and motivation to eat healthily
