Chlamydia Screening

Chlamydia Screening Programme is for people aged between 15-24 years of age in Sefton.

Chlamydia is…

  • The most common sexually transmitted infection in the UK
  • When tested, 1 in 14 people aged 15-24 were found to have chlamydia.
  • Just because you don’t have any symptoms does not mean you don’t have it.
  • It may only take one episode of unprotected intercourse with an infected person to catch Chlamydia. A simple urine test can confirm if you have Chlamydia and it can be easily treated with antibiotics.
